mel has been guiding yoga, movement and mindfulness now for 6 years, is a lululemon Ambassador and invites you to connect with yourself, through movement, breath and body finding your Flow.
Movement, breath and body is how I find my Flow.
From a young age I was a lover of movement as an aspiring gymnast and as I grew into adulthood, this love continued through the practice of yoga.
Joining the corporate world at 18, I left Melbourne at 25 to travel the globe beginning with my roots in the Philippines.
I found myself travelling, to over 50 countries across five continents, where I lived in London and Abu Dhabi. Living such a transient lifestyle for many years, the one thing that kept me grounded and safe was coming back to my body, through movement and breath.
Through this practice is how I connected to people of all walks of life, meeting new friends and like minded souls all around the world. Bringing my mat wherever I landed, Melbourne to Philippines, London to Abu Dhabi and many places in between, I often returned to Goa, India to further delve into the eight limbs of the Ashtanga lineage.
When starting to feel disconnected to myself and purpose for living overseas, it was my dear yoga teacher in Abu Dhabi who sparked my curiosity to become a Yoga Teacher. Once the seed was planted, I left Abu Dhabi, finding my Flow once again, this time in Nepal where I stayed in a Buddhist Monastery with practicing Monks connecting back with my breath meditating before dawn and submerging deep into movement with the Ashtanga practice as the sun came up.
Within the same year of 2018, is when I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Koh Samui, Thailand and made my way back home to Melbourne to share what I had learned with the community I had been away from for so long.
Again, I found my Flow guiding studio classes around Melbourne, leaving the corporate world behind becoming a leader and manager of a yoga studio.
Now as I ride this changing Flow, I continue to connect through movement, breath and body. In my offerings you can expect flowy, challenging sequences, with creative transitions, exploring arm balances and inversions, continuously using the breath to weave between each posture, like a moving meditation - finding your Flow.
My offerings are intended to be inclusive, inviting new students to more seasoned practitioners, with options, variations and modifications encouraged to be expressed and are always welcome, simply bring your sense of curiosity to find your unique Flow.
